We are an emerging technology company hiring A+ players only . As a fast-growing venture-backed advanced materials manufacturer of protective coatings, DetraPel is looking to expand its team to support hyper growth during this next chapter. Previously featured on ABC’s Shark Tank, DetraPel manufactures non-toxic, PFAS-free functional barrier coatings for industrial and consumer applications in Textiles, Paper & Food Packaging, and Contract Aerosol Manufacturing.

The Applications Chemist role is a full-time, in-person position focused on translating DetraPel formulations into real-world performance on customer-relevant substrates. You’ll design and run lab application trials (spray and coating), evaluate and report performance data, develop clear SOPs, and collaborate closely with formulation chemists, operations, and manufacturing to move concepts from lab to pilot to production. This is a hands-on lab role (think “applications lab technician with chemistry chops”) for someone who loves process, precision, and measurable results.

Compensation :

$55,000 - $60,000 yearly

Responsibilities : Your Day To Day :

Applications Testing & Method Development (35%)

• Plan, execute, and document application trials across textiles and paper / packaging using lab-scale tools (airless / air-assisted spray, drawdowns / rod / roll, dip).
• Optimize process parameters (mixing, viscosity / solids, film build, cure / oven settings) to hit target specs.
• Draft and refine application SOPs and work instructions.

Performance Evaluation & Data Analysis (25%)
