Position Compensation Range :

$78,000.00 - $128,000.00

Pay Rate Type : Salary

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Are you eagerto leverage your analytics and data wrangling skills to make a direct impact on business outcomes? As a Senior Data Analyst within the direct distribution channel at American Family Insurance, you will analyze customer, risk, financial, and other data to identify opportunities for profitable growth and influence business decisions through actionable insights. The ideal candidate understands how insurance products function-including the effects of underwriting and rating on the distribution funnel-and possesses advanced data wrangling skills needed to map customer behavior across web, call center, service platforms, or whatever journey to a sale a customer takes. You will use analytical and statistical methods to uncover opportunities to enhance the customer experience and drive profitable business growth. You will report to the Senior Manager, Data Analytics.

In this flex office / home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from either Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110.

Primary Accountabilities

  • You will conduct accurate and timely business analysis and reporting to support and drive business decisions using statistical modeling and other business analysis tools.
  • You will collaborate with key stakeholders to define key financial and operational metrics to continuously monitor, track, and report performance.
  • You will collaborate with business partners in the development and delivery of key performance analysis and reporting.
  • You will build and maintain models used to project business results; enhances the model where there is business value in adjusting the models.
  • You will ensure analysis and reporting accuracy and integrity and explains performance drivers and provides insights into performance trends.
  • You will analyze and address data quality issues, tests and analyzes impact of system changes to data / reporting infrastructure.
  • You will develop, test, and deploy automated reporting solutions and automated decision analytics to replace manual business processes.
  • You may be requested to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Big Querry / SQL script writing experience required
  • Insurance product and domain knowledge
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of forecasting techniques or statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated strong experience utilizing data tools such as R and Python to build complex formulas and create reports.
  • Data visualization experience with BI tools such as Tableau
  • Knowledge of a variety of standard reporting software packages and best practices for report deployment processes.
  • Demonstrated experience developing data sets.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%.
