The anticipated starting salary range for Chicago, I.L. based individuals expressing interest in this position is $79,268.80 - $130,898.35

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

Overview :

WBBM Newsradio, Chicago’s number one news station, is looking for a talented full-time Anchor / Reporter hybrid with an enterprising attitude and impressive work ethic to join our team of award-winning journalists. Shifts will primarily consist of evenings, but may also include early mornings, holidays and / or weekends. You will be expected to operate under tight deadlines, work collaboratively, and pitch story ideas. You will also be expected to be active on various social media channels and contribute content to the station website.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do :

• Anchor over the course of multiple hours on WBBM Newsradio- including running an audio board for news broadcasting and reporting on various news stories as assigned.
• Operate the audio board of the radio station and maintain the audio content with consistency and reliability and to FCC standards.
• Deliver the news in a conversational and authoritative way while communicating with editors and other newsroom employees.
• Conceptualize, write, produce and record reported news segments for on air and multi-platform publication.
• Gather audio in the community, conduct interviews on-scene, provide live coverage during breaking news
• Use social media before, during and after the course of your shift to connect with listeners, promote upcoming stories and interviews, and to highlight station content
• Contribute content - including but not limited to audio, video and written format – to WBBMNewsradio.com or other Audacy websites as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management
