CPC Certified Profee Coder

A company is looking for a Profee Coding Consultant (General Surgery) to provide consulting services and educational support in medical coding.

Key Responsibilities

Review medical records and assign accurate codes in compliance with client needs

Conduct data quality reviews to ensure adherence to coding and documentation guidelines

Identify opportunities for documentation improvement and coding issues

Required Qualifications

1+ year of coding experience

AHIMA or AAPC certified credentials (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)

Experience with computerized encoding and abstracting software

Ability to pass annual HIPAA examinations and other required testing

Strong understanding of general surgery coding, particularly for procedures like colon resections and gastric bypass
