About The Position

Description :

This position is for a pediatric psychiatric facility.

The role involves working with acute in-patient behavioral health patients.

The nurse will be responsible for managing a designated number of patients, typically between 8-12, while supporting medication passes.

Direct observation of patients will be conducted by Behavioral Health Technicians.

The nurse will work alongside interdisciplinary teams to provide care for children and adolescents facing various behavioral health challenges.

Experience in treatment settings such as residential / group home or outpatient care preferred.

Candidates should be familiar with managing conditions such as anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, suicidal behaviors, and substance use.

Emergency care skills, including CPR and physical restraint protocols, are essential.

The nurse will be required to follow legal protocols regarding seclusion and commitment processes.

Medication administration experience is necessary, including familiarity with various delivery methods.

Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and abilities in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

This role requires adaptability to float among different units if necessary.

Evenings and weekends may be required as part of the regular schedule.

Compliance with training and ongoing education related to juvenile mental health is expected.
