Job Summary :

The Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care within a correctional facility, focusing on patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning. The role requires strong communication and collaboration with patients, providers, and the interdisciplinary team. Mandatory floating within the facility is expected to meet operational needs.

Location : Chicago, Illinois, United States

Responsibilities :

Provide skilled nursing care to patients.
Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Document patient care and related duties accurately in the charting system.
Float to various units within the facility as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications :

Active Registered Nurse license.

BLS certification.

Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med / Surg.

Ability to work within 75 miles of the facility.

Preferred Skills & Certifications :

Correctional experience.

Special Considerations :

Mandatory floating within the facility is required.

Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month are required.

Maximum of 5 days of RTO with no more than 2 consecutive days.

No RTO is permitted on or around holidays or weekends.

Scheduling :

3x12-hour shifts, from 11 : 00 AM to 11 : 30 PM.

No block scheduling accommodations.
