  • Weekly Salary Range : $1890–$2030 per week (estimated)\n

    • \n\nJob Details – Maryland Surgical Tech Travel Assignment\n \n

  • Location : Clinton, Maryland (20735) – Washington, D.C. metro area\n
  • Healthcare Setting : Acute Inpatient OR, Cardiovascular OR (CVOR), Outpatient OR\n
  • Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 1 / 2025 – End : 3 / 2 / 2026)\n
  • Shifts : Day shifts, rotating 4x10-hour (07 : 00–17 : 30 and 09 : 00–19 : 30)\n
  • Hours per Week : 40\n
  • On-Call / Weekend Requirement : On call for 3–4 weekdays and 2–3 weekends (OB call required), including either a Saturday or Sunday within a 6-week period; holiday call coverage required (Christmas 2025 or New Year's Day 2026)\n
  • Charting System : Cerner (Cerner experience required)\n
  • Scrubs Provided \n

    • \n\nQualifications – Certified Surgical First Assistant Jobs\n \n

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an OR Tech First Assist or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)\n
  • At least 1 prior travel healthcare assignment\n
  • Valid NBSTSA CSFA certification\n
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)\n
  • Experience in acute inpatient OR, CVOR, and outpatient OR settings preferred\n
  • Expertise in instrument processing, isolation precautions, laser safety, and sterilization / disinfection\n
  • Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) system\n
  • Community hospital experience required; Trauma Level II experience preferred\n
  • Ability to provide two supervisor references\n
  • Active compact or Maryland state surgical tech license\n
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n

    • \n\nKey Responsibilities – Surgical Tech First Assist\n \n

  • Assist surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, vascular, plastics, and robotic surgeries\n
  • Suture all wound layers, including muscle and fascia\n
  • Tie and ligate clamped vessels or tissues\n
  • Apply wound dressings (liquid or spray occlusive)\n
  • Maintain strict adherence to isolation precautions, laser safety, and sterilization / disinfection protocols\n
  • Process and prepare surgical instruments for procedures\n
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide coverage during holidays and weekends as required\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care\n
  • Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate charting and surgical documentation\n
