Material Handler

Overview :

We are seeking a Material Handler for a short-term assignment (4–6 weeks with possible extension). This is a full-time, onsite role in East Granby, CT. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 7 : 00am–4 : 30pm, with no weekend work required. Candidates must have forklift experience.

Compensation :

  • Hourly rate up to $19.50

Interview Process :

  • One onsite interview with the hiring manager

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Accurately receive, stock, and deliver materials to support production and shipping.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, tuggers, or similar equipment.
  • Verify parts, quantities, and complete bills of lading for incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Support shipping, receiving, and inventory management functions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety rules and 6S standards.

    • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Prior forklift experience and ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
  • Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments involving inventory management.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Six months or more of relevant experience.
  • Ability to become forklift certified.
  • Experience with warehouse technology, inventory systems, or shipping confirmation processes.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.

    • Core Competencies :

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Basic reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.

    • Work Environment :

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and handling materials.
  • Occasional lifting or pushing / pulling of up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to temperature changes, dust, and moderate noise levels.
  • Standard weekday shift schedule with minimal overtime requirements.
