Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues. Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software. Ability to read service and repair manuals. Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion. Ability to read work orders. Must be willing to submit and pass an annual MVR check. High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of related experience preferred. Must be able to work safely in areas with potential exposure to cold / hot temperatures, noise pollution, dust, solvents, fuels, and battery acid. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly. Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed. Must be able to stand for 6+ hours daily. Good binocular vision to inspect repair work. Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
Shop Service Technician
Job Summary :
The Shop Service Technician will perform repair work and maintenance for lift trucks and other equipment. This position reports to the Shop Foreman.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Inspects forklift truck fleet to ensure trucks are working properly and safely.
- Identifies / troubleshoot mechanical problems with lift trucks or other equipment.
- Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined.
- Performs repairs, replacements, or preventative maintenance on variety of forklifts including electric, gas-powered, and propane powered.
- Performs further tests that may include test driving the vehicle to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
