Position
Systems Safety & Software Safety Engineer (Entry-Level, Associate, or Mid-Level)
Locations : Hazelwood, MO or Berkeley, MO. This position is expected to be 100% onsite at the Hazelwood, MO or Berkeley, MO sites.
Responsibilities
- Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
- Perform analyses and integration activities to optimize total system of systems architecture for Software Safety
- Identify, analyze, and assess regulatory and / or contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products and services against development and design assurance standards (MIL-STD-882E, JSSEH, DO-178, DO-254) to provide hazard mitigation evidence
- Analyze software to identify potential failure conditions or investigate reported in-service fleet hazards, risks, and safety concerns
- Identify safety issue systemic root causes and recommend corrective actions using industry best practices (MIL STD-882E)
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate safety requirements
- Verify that the system meets or exceeds defined safety requirements by conducting safety analyses, audits, and reviews
- Demonstrate safety hazard risk mitigation and control methods to the customer and regulators
- Resolve multi-functional technical issues
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer sciencePreferred Qualifications (Desired)
Associate : 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMid-Level : 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in System Safety or Software SafetyPay, Benefits & Other Details
Pay is based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay ranges (Entry-Level : $68,000 – $92,000; Associate : $81,600 – $110,400; Mid-Level : $97,750 – $132,250).
