Job Summary :
The Senior Director of Major Giving & Community Impact Programs is a key member of FosterAdopt
Connects senior leadership team, reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer. This role provides strategic vision and leadership to expand and diversify individual gifts, strengthen community engagement, and drive sustainable impact programs for children and families.
The ideal candidate is an innovative fundraiser and relationship-builder who can integrate proven fundraising practices with creative new strategies to increase donor participation, secure major individual gifts, and advance FosterAdopt
Connects mission of giving back to families impacted by the child welfare system.
Responsibilities : Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Build on existing strategies across fundraising channels including donor meetings and events, direct mail, digital platforms, email, and mid-to-high-level giving (10K+).
- Create new strategies in key fundraising areas including capital campaigns, monthly and planned, and high-net-worth individual giving.
- Partner with the Chief Advancement Officer to develop and manage the department budget, ensuring compliance and alignment with organizational goals.
- Supervise the Directors of Community Outreach to engage private mid and low level giving.
- Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Engagement to identify key individuals for relationship building.
- Implement moves management strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors.
- Provide guidance, leadership and accountability in donor portfolio strategy and implementation.
- Monitor all individual fundraising campaigns, evaluate performance, and implement improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling donor materials and campaign collateral that support major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, and donor events.
- Conduct market and donor analysis to identify opportunities and challenges for revenue growth across all geographic areas.
- Stay current with trends, best practices, and innovations in fundraising and philanthropy.
- Work collaboratively across teams, delegate effectively, and inspire staff to deliver results.
- Maintain strong, open communication with direct supervisor regarding services delivered, concerns, or questions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and core values of FAC, and a willingness to perform other duties as required.
- Participate in staff meetings and
assist other program staff as needed.
