• 1 : 5 patient ratio experience in SD or PCU

Description :

The role requires experience in a PCU setting with a focus on patient care.

The target patient ratios are typically between 1 : 4-6.

The unit participates in a team nursing model where registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and patient care technicians collaborate to care for a group of patients.

Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the unit's needs.

Passing an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment is essential.

Travel experience is preferred.

Experience with the EPIC charting system is required.

Floating to other units may occur based on organizational discretion and patient care needs.

The travel nurse must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.

The unit provides care to a diverse patient population, including those with cerebrovascular accidents, transient ischemic attacks, and neurological issues.

Staff will assist in managing high-risk respiratory cases.

Additional requirements include completing lab work and EKG / dysrhythmia assessments within a specified timeframe upon contract signing.

Modules are self-reported and up to 24 hours are billable, with an average of 18-24 hours for completion during orientation and annually.
