The Manufacturing Engineer will serve as the technical bridge between engineering and production, responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting machining processes for aerospace components. This includes CNC programming, process engineering, tooling development, and hands-on support on the shop floor. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities
\n
Engineering & Process Development
\n \n
- Develop, write, and maintain manufacturing methods, process documentation, and job routers.
\n
Create and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis lathes and mills (3-, 4-, and 5-axis).\n
Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and quality teams to troubleshoot production issues and improve cycle times.\n
Perform design-for-manufacturing analysis and support sales / estimating with manufacturing methods and bills of material.\n \n
Machining & Technical Expertise
\n \n
Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes (3–5 axis, including 4th-axis capabilities) as needed to support production.\n
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts to ensure accurate component production.\n
Select and implement cutting tools, fixtures, and automation solutions to enhance machining capabilities.\n
Perform in-process checks, first article inspections (FAIs), and support AS9100 documentation practices.\n
Work with challenging aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, aluminum).\n \n
CAD / CAM & Systems
\n \n
Utilize Esprit CAM software (or equivalent) for highly complex CNC programming.\n
Input and maintain accurate data in ERP (JobBOSS) for job routings and production tracking.\n
Standardize tooling systems, work holding, and setup practices to reduce downtime and variability.\n \n
Quality & Compliance
\n \n
Ensure all processes and documentation comply with AS9100 requirements.\n
Maintain accurate production, inspection, and engineering records.\n
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as SMED, lean manufacturing, and AI / automation integration.\n \n
Goals

30-90 day objective
\n \n
Develop and demonstrate competency in ERP (JobBOSS), SolidWorks, and CAM (Esprit) systems.\n
Understand a demonstrate competency is setting up and trouble shooting machining issues on multiple machines\n
Complete machine setups of parts with 20% of quoted time.\n
Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve quality\n \n
Required Qualifications
\n \n
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.\n
5–7+ years of experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing (machining, programming, or process engineering).\n
Strong knowledge of CNC machines (mills and lathes), G-code, multi-axis machining strategies, tooling, and setups.\n
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and GD&T principles.\n
Experience with CAD (SolidWorks), CAM (Esprit or similar), and ERP (JobBOSS).\n
Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments and aerospace inspection practices.\n
Strong understanding of AS9100 standards and documentation requirements.\n
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.\n
Ability to lead, collaborate, and work in a fast-paced production environment.\n \n
