Overview
STS Technical Services is hiring an Electrical Engineer to join the TICO Manufacturing team in Ridgeland, South Carolina. In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems used in commercial vehicles. Key Responsibilities
- Design and test functional electrical systems for commercial vehicles
- Develop and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Research, select, and specify components for electrical systems
- Support the installation and troubleshooting of electrical equipment
- Supervise manufacturing processes related to electrical systems
- Perform quality inspections and confirm system functionality
- Develop and maintain detailed product documentation and BOMs
- Assist in the design and testing of new products and systems
- Create 2D schematics and 3D component models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Modify and manage existing drawings and CAD files
- Participate in lean initiatives including Kaizen events and value stream mapping
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and product development teams
- Stay current on industry trends, technical developments, and compliance standards
- Lead continuous improvement efforts within the electrical engineering department
Required Skills and Abilities
Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred)Strong understanding of electronic systems and component materialsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to analyze problems and propose innovative solutionsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skillsCapable of working independently and within collaborative teamsKnowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, welding, and assemblyComfortable interpreting engineering drawings and technical manualsFamiliar with algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and higher-level mathematicsEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field2 to 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering roleExperience with vehicle systems, manufacturing environments, or lean engineering is a plusWorking Conditions
Primarily office-based with occasional work on warehouse or production floorsPPE required only when working in non-office environmentsPhysical Requirements
