Job Responsibilities :
Responds to subpoenas, according to Inova Health System policies, within the prescribed period of time.Serves as a Virginia Notary Public for the Release of Information (ROI) section and internal customers as needed.Serves as an Release of Information (ROI) subject matter expert while performing complex duties including processing requests for Protected Health Information (PHI).Determines validity of authorization, request and documentation provided from patients, doctors, hospitals, Workers' Compensation, insurance companies and legal entities (i.e. subpoena, subpoena documents, power of attorney, deposition and affidavits).Additional Qualifications :
Licensure - N / ACertification - N / AExperience - 3 years of relevant work experience OR graduate of accredited Health Information Technology (HIM) accredited program.Education - High School diploma or equivalent.
