Production Supervisor - Ponca City, OK
1st Shift : 1 hire (06 : 00 AM 04 : 00 PM, MondayFriday, weekends as plant is running OT rate paid for 6th day worked)
2nd Shift : 2 hires (03 : 00 PM 12 : 00 AM MondayFriday, weekends as plant is running OT rate paid for 6th day worked)
Position Purpose
The Production Supervisor organizes and directs work on the processing floor in order to meet the required production schedule. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the hourly workforce carries out their assignments in a manner consistent with company expectations regarding food and plant safety, quality, productivity, and cleanliness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to achieving all operational goals (yield, efficiency, uptime, labor cost, etc.) to provide the best possible conversion cost.
- Monitor quality checks to ensure product quality and food safety standards are met, reducing or eliminating risks.
- Direct hourly associates in risk management and safety to protect employees and minimize organizational exposure to loss and liability.
- Support employee and labor relations activities to increase engagement; lead and direct daily employee activities including placement, training, and goal setting.
- Participate in product development or process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and Operations Manager to develop training plans aligned with company objectives.
Qualifications Must Have
High School diploma or equivalent; or 3-5 years related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Progressive supervisory experience in a production environment.Proven ability to meet production goals (efficiency, yield, labor cost).Experience maintaining quality and food safety standards.Ability to lead, train, and motivate hourly employees; manage labor relations.Knowledge of workplace safety practices in environments with moving machinery, refrigerated / freezer conditions, or other hazards.Willingness and ability to work assigned shifts and weekends as needed.Nice to Have :
Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field.Experience in process improvement initiatives or product development.Experience developing and implementing training plans.Demonstrated success in increasing employee engagement or resolving labor-related challenges.Physical Demands / Work Environment
Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.Noise level is usually very loud.Majority of work conducted in a refrigerated atmosphere; occasional work in a freezer with extremely cold temperatures.
