QUALIFICATIONS :
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited university, with a Master's Degree preferred.
- Hold a valid New Jersey teaching certificate, with Bilingual / Bicultural Education and / or ESL endorsement.
- Have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in areas related to Bilingual Education and / or ESL.
- Have a background in providing professional development through workshops and / or mentoring.
- Have experience and knowledge regarding WIDA Standards and WIDA ACCESS administration.
- Have excellent experience in teaching and working with children / students.
- Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
- Have the ability to implement developmentally appropriate curricula and structured teaching practices for teachers in bilingual, ESL, and Sheltered English Instruction settings.
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.

JOB GOAL : The Bilingual / ESL Instructional Coach focuses on individual and group professional development to expand and refine effective research-based instruction. The coach provides personalized support based on the goals and needs of individual teachers, aiming to enhance instruction that builds student understanding, addresses language acquisition, is academically rigorous, meets curriculum standards, and increases student engagement and ownership of learning.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Knowledge of research-based instructional practices for Multilingual Learners.Strong instructional coaching skills.Experience with differentiated instructional theories & practices.Strong pedagogy background and knowledge of second language acquisition.Knowledge of WIDA Standards and WIDA ACCESS.Effective communication skills.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Effective decision-making skills.Ability to mentor teachers.Ability to conduct staff development effectively.Experience in developing, preparing, and presenting information to adult audiences.Ability to develop, revise, or evaluate standards-based curricula.Effective written and oral communication skills.Experience with research-based instructional practices.Ability to provide instructional leadership and follow directions.Responsibilities and duties include program management, curriculum support, instructional support, professional development, meetings, and committees, as well as other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
