QUALIFICATIONS :

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited university, with a Master's Degree preferred.
• Hold a valid New Jersey teaching certificate, with Bilingual / Bicultural Education and / or ESL endorsement.
• Have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in areas related to Bilingual Education and / or ESL.
• Have a background in providing professional development through workshops and / or mentoring.
• Have experience and knowledge regarding WIDA Standards and WIDA ACCESS administration.
• Have excellent experience in teaching and working with children / students.
• Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
• Have the ability to implement developmentally appropriate curricula and structured teaching practices for teachers in bilingual, ESL, and Sheltered English Instruction settings.
• Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.

REPORTS TO : DIRECTOR OF BILINGUAL EDUCATION, ESL, AND WORLD LANGUAGES

SUPERVISES : N / A

JOB GOAL : The Bilingual / ESL Instructional Coach focuses on individual and group professional development to expand and refine effective research-based instruction. The coach provides personalized support based on the goals and needs of individual teachers, aiming to enhance instruction that builds student understanding, addresses language acquisition, is academically rigorous, meets curriculum standards, and increases student engagement and ownership of learning.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsibilities and duties include program management, curriculum support, instructional support, professional development, meetings, and committees, as well as other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
