Senior Communications Manager - Policy & Regulatory
This role will be based in New York City or Washington, DC.

In this fast-paced and high-visibility role, you will develop and execute strategic communications that advance LinkedIn's public policy objectives globally. You'll be at the intersection of technology, policy, workforce development, and communications, telling LinkedIn's story on critical issues shaping the digital economy. We're looking for a proactive and seasoned communications leader with experience managing complex legislative, regulatory, and political issues under close public scrutiny. You'll work cross-functionally with Public Policy, Legal, and Corporate Communications teams to build strategies that inform, influence, and protect LinkedIn's reputation with key audiences, including policymakers, regulators, media, and the public.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead proactive and reactive communications strategies that support LinkedIn's public policy and regulatory priorities across key markets.
- Partner closely with the Public Policy and Legal teams to align messaging on legislative, regulatory, and political issues affecting the technology sector.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and spokesperson on policy-related communications, managing media inquiries and shaping coverage to advance LinkedIn's perspective.
- Distill complex policy topics into clear, compelling narratives, talking points, and messaging frameworks for internal and external audiences.
- Build strong relationships with journalists, industry stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to help advance LinkedIn's thought leadership and advocacy goals.
- Anticipate and manage reputational risks tied to emerging policy or regulatory developments; develop rapid-response plans and briefing materials.
- Support executive communications and external speaking opportunities related to policy and regulation.
- Collaborate across Corporate Communications to ensure consistency of message and alignment with broader brand and corporate priorities.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, or media relations, preferably within technology, government, or policy-focused organizations.Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in or closely with government, regulatory agencies, or policy organizations.Deep understanding of the technology policy landscape and issues related to data, privacy, AI, and online platforms.Demonstrated ability to collaborate across global teams and operate with cultural sensitivity.Proven ability to manage sensitive issues under public scrutiny with discretion and sound judgment.Proven track record leading communications strategies around complex legislative, regulatory, or political issues.Strong media relations experience and existing relationships with reporters covering technology, policy, and business.Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.Ability to make swift decisions, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment among senior stakeholders in high-pressure situations.Skills

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and / or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
