The candidate must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts. Job Description The X-Ray Technologist will be responsible for verifying patients' identities, reviewing physicians' orders, and utilizing x-ray equipment to capture diagnostic images as directed. The role includes explaining procedures to patients, positioning them safely, and ensuring high-quality image production. Responsibilities Verify patient identity and review physician orders before x-ray procedures. Utilize x-ray equipment to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs as per orders. Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address their questions. Position patients appropriately, including assisting those with limited mobility. Maintain safety protocols and minimize radiation exposure to patients. Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. Report any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment promptly. Use electronic systems to manage patient information and imaging records. Practice the dual patient identifier procedure to ensure accurate record-keeping. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). New York State license (or ability to obtain prior to starting). Minimum of two years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist. Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
