Position Overview

Job Title : Server

Location : 3001 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23451

Schedule : Seasonal, Variable or Part-Time (must include weekends and holidays)

Work Environment : Oceanfront hotel right on the boardwalk

Summary : As a Restaurant Server, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests. You will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and attending to guests' needs in a courteous and efficient manner.

What You'll Do :

• Customer Service : Greet customers warmly, engage with them in a friendly and professional manner, and provide attentive service throughout their visit.
• Order Taking : Take drink orders from customers, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Menu Knowledge : Have a thorough understanding of the cocktail menu, wine list, and other beverage offerings, and be able to make recommendations based on customer preferences and tastes.
• Drink Preparation : Work closely with bartenders to prepare and serve drinks to customers efficiently and accurately, following established recipes and presentation standards.
• Upselling : Utilize suggestive selling techniques to promote additional drink options, upgrades, or specials to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
• Table Maintenance : Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and seating areas in the bar or lounge, including clearing empty glasses and plates, wiping down surfaces, and ensuring a tidy environment.
• Cash Handling : Process payments for drink orders, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and processing payments accurately and efficiently.
• Safety and Compliance : Adhere to alcohol service laws and regulations, including checking identification to verify legal drinking age and refusing service to intoxicated individuals when necessary.
