Position Summary :
Dant Clayton has opportunities for candidates to become part of an exciting growing company in the world of sports facility design, fabrication and construction. The Project Designer performs a variety of activities supporting the design department to deliver Approval, Fabrication Drawings & Final Field Use drawings for project completion using Autodesk Revit. Candidate will help shape the organization using 3D design technology and processes that align company objectives. Dant Clayton is seeking a candidate who can bring new ideas to the table and collaboratively deliver project designs to support project management, sales, engineering, shop fabrication and field support.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Create project designs in Autodesk Revit, including preparation of proposal drawings, approval drawings, shop drawings, and final field use drawings
- Generate RFI’s to assist job clarity on an as needed basis
- Review drawings, plans, specifications and other customer documentation.
- Attend and participate in project specific meetings to determine the most efficient project design while following scope of work
- Work with engineering to communicate the design requirements and update designs to engineering requirements
- Communicate effectively to help maintain internal and construction schedule
- Identify opportunities for improvement (value engineering) and make constructive suggestions for change
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of Dant Clayton products and their applicability to project requirements
- Detail drawings with dimensions, material and other information necessary to make detailed drawing clear and complete
- Communicate details / complexities to ensure an accurate release of information to manufacturing
- Operates in a cross-functional capacity; as workflow demands change it may be necessary to support other production requirements as part of the project team
- Works to help reduce errors and improve drawing standards for external and internal use
- Watches to make sure own project task follows key metric’s; Correct, On Time, and On Budget
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or better with an educational background in architecture or engineering. Will also consider combinations of education and relevant experienceA general understanding of construction practices and principles – proven proficiency in modular building construction OR part fabrication detailing preferredDemonstrated ability to manage / coordinate a small project (or defined portion of a larger project) from concept through construction documentationSelf-starter who is focused, articulate, well organized, and detail orientedStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with a sense of urgencyExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProven proficiency with Autodesk Revit; AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu and Office proficiency preferredUnderstanding of parametric design principles, Dynamo, programming, etc. preferredFamiliarity using AI powered productivity tools would be a plus.Passion for technological advancement and personal growthSalary position based on a 40 hour week, overtime may be required to meet project needs.Physical Requirements :
