Position Overview

Special Process Technician I – Spray Painting is responsible for applying paint finishes to completed units and sub-assemblies using spray or brush application. The role requires precision work on small parts, color blending, and adherence to quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mix paints, enamels, or lacquers to specified colors, consistencies, and viscosities for spraying and brushing.
  • Prepare surfaces, mask, and apply coating to a variety of parts, improvising to meet specifications required.
  • Touch up marred or defective surfaces on painted parts discovered during repair or inspection tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 6 months industrial or automotive painting experience preferred; experience with precision work on small parts or unusual finishes strongly preferred.
  • Ability to use small tools and measuring instruments including Zahn-Cup / Micrometer.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where paint, solvent fumes, and dust are present.
  • Must be able to wear dust mask or respirator.
  • Must be able to color blend and color match existing finishes.

    • Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year related work experience required; 2–4 years preferred.
  • Previous experience with NADCAP audits preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

    • Benefits & Schedule

    Provides 401(k) plan and tuition reimbursement. 9 / 80 schedule with every other Friday off.

    Location

    Black Mountain, NC facility. Relocation assistance not available.
