Position Overview
Special Process Technician I – Spray Painting is responsible for applying paint finishes to completed units and sub-assemblies using spray or brush application. The role requires precision work on small parts, color blending, and adherence to quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Mix paints, enamels, or lacquers to specified colors, consistencies, and viscosities for spraying and brushing.
- Prepare surfaces, mask, and apply coating to a variety of parts, improvising to meet specifications required.
- Touch up marred or defective surfaces on painted parts discovered during repair or inspection tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Experience & Skills
6 months industrial or automotive painting experience preferred; experience with precision work on small parts or unusual finishes strongly preferred.Ability to use small tools and measuring instruments including Zahn-Cup / Micrometer.Must be able to work in an environment where paint, solvent fumes, and dust are present.Must be able to wear dust mask or respirator.Must be able to color blend and color match existing finishes.Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum 1 year related work experience required; 2–4 years preferred.Previous experience with NADCAP audits preferred.Must be a U.S. Citizen.Benefits & Schedule
