The Ohio Valley chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors, a national construction industry trade association, is seeking a growth-oriented leader for its multi-state OSHA training center. The director of the center currently coordinates about 100 courses with 1,000 students annually.
About the Role :
ABC's Mid-America OSHA Education Center operates under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor. The new leader will oversee the strategic planning, administration and execution of OSHA-authorized training courses across a multi-state region. The work ensures alignment with federal compliance standards while meeting the evolving safety education needs of professionals in construction, general industry and public sectors. With a commitment to accessibility and impact, the director will manage programmatic compliance, course scheduling, instructor coordination and stakeholder engagement. The leader will also direct the creation and implementation of customized marketing strategies to support program growth, audience development, and outreach initiatives. The director will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, academic partners, and regulatory agencies to ensure training remains relevant, high-quality and aligned with national safety priorities. The role plays a key part in enhancing workforce competency and promoting a culture of safety throughout ABC Ohio Valley's 35-county region and its seven-state territory.
Responsibilities include :
Developing and delivering safety training courses and certifications
Ensuring compliance with OSHA and industry safety regulations
Partnering with member companies to support their safety initiatives
Overseeing apprentices and trainees safety education
Leading safety audits, inspections and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications :
Background in construction safety and compliance
OSHA-authorized trainer status preferred
Experience in workforce development, training or education a plus
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Passion for building a culture of safety in construction
