About the Opportunity

As a Heart Failure ICU Advanced Practice Provider (AGACNP or PA-C) , you will join a multidisciplinary team that manages critically ill patients with advanced cardiac conditions — including heart failure, transplant, and mechanical circulatory support.
This position is ideal for a high-performing clinician with strong critical-care expertise who is ready to grow within an advanced heart-failure and cardiac ICU program. You’ll collaborate with renowned physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and specialized nursing teams in one of the most advanced healthcare centers in Texas.
Schedule & Work Details
- Full-time 12-hour night shifts (paid for 40 hours)
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- No on-call requirements
- Credentialing process : approximately 2–3 months
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced patient assessment, diagnosis, and management for complex cardiac and post-surgical patients.Collaborate closely with intensivists, cardiologists, and cardiac surgeons to develop and execute evidence-based care plans.Manage patients receiving advanced therapies, including :VV / VA ECMO
LVAD and other mechanical circulatory support devicesHeart and lung transplant patientsPost-operative cardiac surgery careOrder and interpret diagnostic tests, initiate therapies, and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and ensure accurate clinical documentation.Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, recovery, and long-term management.Qualifications
Education :Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (for NPs) or Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies (for PAs).
Licensure & Certification :Active Texas RN and AGACNP license or Texas PA license with NCCPA certification.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.Experience :Minimum 2 years of ICU or critical-care experience as an RN, NP, or PA.
Experience with heart-failure populations required (RN, NP, or PA), even from a mixed ICU.Cardiology or cardiac surgery ICU experience preferred.New NPs must have at least 2 years of prior critical-care RN experience.Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.Why You’ll Love Working Here
