General Responsibilities / Job Summary :

The Credit Analyst I analyzes financial data of commercial borrowers to assess creditworthiness, underwrite loans, and reviews existing loans. The role supports loan structuring to maximize profit and minimize risk, with some independence. It primarily handles simpler relationships but may manage more complex cases as skills grow.

Essential Functions / Duties :

• Learn Systems & Policies : Master the credit policy, core banking system, and loan origination system.
• Prepare Financial Analysis : Create financial spreads, cash flows, and underwriting documents for loans and reviews.
• Gather Background Information : Collect customer data from public agencies, property searches, credit reports, and appraisals.
• Workflow Prioritization : Communicate with the team to prioritize tasks and provide updates.
• Risk Assessment : Identify potential problem loans and recommend risk ratings and loan structures.
• Loan Administration Support : Assist with loan administration and portfolio tasks.
• Special Projects : Contribute to special Credit Department projects.
• Committee Support : Take and distribute minutes for committees like the Problem Asset and Officer’s Loan Committee.
• Additional Duties : Complete other tasks as assigned.

Requirements :

Minimum Qualifications :

Education / Training : High School Diploma or equivalent, Four (4) year college degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

Experience : One (1) year of commercial financial analysis or related experience preferred. 1-3 years of banking experience preferred.

Travel Requirements : Ability to travel to all locations in the bank’s footprint as needed.
