Who We're Looking For Toyota's Production Engineering Battery department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineer to work in the Battery group.
The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare, coordinate battery manufacturing equipment to support new model launches.
This position will be located at TBMNC in Liberty, NC and report to the Engineering Manager for Battery.
The person in this role will support the Battery department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning thru Start of Production (SOP).
What You'll Be Doing
- Construction / Equipment installations to include planning and management of general contractors
- Leading the cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, utility planning / verification, installation, pre-productions trials and launch of battery production lines
- Developing process plans for battery production lines within the battery department with direct support from Manager
- Directly supporting other engineers or technicians through mentorship
- Creating and maintaining detailed schedule and budget for assigned area
- Participate in cross functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals
- Participate in a mentor program to grow as an engineer and learn from others within the department
- Learn intricate details about your assigned machine(s) and use this skill to successfully lead mass production trials. Further, train production and maintenance members to run day to day operations
What You Bring
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field or 5+ years of equivalent manufacturing experience (Toyota co-op experience included)Experience in troubleshooting lasers, robotics and high automation equipmentExperience in production preparation of manufacturing and experience in execution of capital projects, preferably from initial planning to start of productionAutoCAD experience, including the ability to read, interpret and modify 2D drawingsExperience in creating and implementing processes in a manufacturing environment, such as standardized work, job safety analysis or similarBudget management experience for capital projects greater than $250KAbility to work weekends, holidays and shutdown periods, including business travel, both domestic and international, annually up to 25% overtime on averageAdded bonus if you have
