Overview

JV Boys Soccer Head Coach - Western Albemarle High School at Albemarle County Public Schools. Part-time role with a coaching stipend available. Deadline for applications : Until Filled.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and run effective practices and game strategies.
  • Develop and train student-athletes; foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic success.
  • Manage assistant coaches and coordinate with athletic department staff.
  • Build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and the community.
  • Meet all school district and state coaching certification requirements (including CPR / First Aid and concussion training).
  • Uphold VHSL rules and regulations; maintain positive relations with student-athletes, parents and the community.
  • Coordinate travel with student-athletes to and from matches.

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level (head coaching experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and player development.
  • Ability to plan and run effective practices and game strategies.
  • Ability to develop and train student-athletes; strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Availability for practices, games, and off-season conditioning.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who hold or are eligible for a Virginia teaching license.
  • Must disclose prior convictions as required by state law; information may be verified.

    • Physical Conditions

    Duties are performed in school settings including gym and recreational areas. Frequent walking, standing, light lifting, and other physical activities required. Daily contact with student-athletes for instruction; regular travel to and from matches; regular contact with coaches, administrators, parents, and the media.

    NOTE : All positions are part-time, temporary positions. Coaching stipend available.
