Med / Surg LPN Job Details Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1210 - $1240 Employment Type : Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract) Location : Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare jobs) Facility : Tertiary Care Hospital, Medical / Surgical Unit Shift : 3x12-hour night shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00), rotating days / nights Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 21 / 2025 – End : 1 / 20 / 2026) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Patient Ratios : 6 patients per LPN (night shift) Charting System : Epic EMR Scrub Color : Navy and white Qualifications for Med / Surg LPN Travel Nursing Job Active New York LPN license Minimum 1 year of recent LPN experience (hospital experience within the last 2 years preferred) Previous charge nurse experience required Travel nursing experience required Proficiency with Epic charting system BLS certification (American Heart Association) Able to manage own patient assignment with RN support Willingness to float to other Medical / Surgical units as needed Must reside more than 75 miles from the Rochester facility Med / Surg LPN Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations in a complex care setting Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral IV lines, and maintain feeding tubes Implement isolation precautions and oxygen therapies (including HFNC and nasal cannula) Assist with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and tracheostomy management Perform wound care, wound vac management, and surgical drain care Monitor telemetry and respond to rapid response / code teams as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services) Float to other Med / Surg units as required Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career with this rewarding Med / Surg LPN job in Rochester, New York!
