Facility Maintenance Technician

Position summary : The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of machinery, equipment, and systems within the recycling facility. This role ensures maximum, uptime, efficiency, and safety of the plant operations by performing both routine and emergency maintenance on shredders, balers, conveyors, sortation systems, and support equipment.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and inspections on plant machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Diagnose and promptly repair mechanical and hydraulic issues in balers, shredders, conveyors, forklifts, trailers, and other systems.
• Assist senior technicians with rolling stock equipment maintenance and support installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and corporate standards, including lockout / tagout procedures.
• Collaborate with plant operators to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements. Support housekeeping, environmental compliance, and inventory management.
• A flexible schedule is required, including weekends and up to 25% travel to support multiple facilities.
