Job Description
American Traveler seeks a Cath Lab Technologist with at least one year of recent interventional cardiac cath lab experience, holding active ARRT or RCIS certification and an IL license.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital Level I trauma center with a dedicated cardiac catheterization laboratoryPatient population is primarily middle-aged and older adults requiring diagnostic and interventional cardiac proceduresProcedures include cardiac stent placement, closure device implantation, left / right heart catheterizations, IABP, PCI, PTCA, rotablader athrectomy, and moreShifts are available as 4x12s (6 : 30 AM-7 : 00 PM), with potential flexibility for 3x12, 4x10, or 5x8 shiftsWeekend work required for 2-3 weekends per contractCall required, rotating with staff and dedicated call team; call frequency may vary based on censusCerner EMR experience requiredScrubs providedResponsible for cardiac catheterization procedures including device implantation, angiography, and assisting interventional cardiologists as part of a multidisciplinary teamAssignments are 13 or 26 weeks, with flexibility based on mutual agreementNo floating outside cath lab requiredFirst-time travelers welcomeMaximum of 5 days requested time off preferred; holiday coverage required for at least 2 out of 3 major holidaysLocals accepted with no radius restrictionCandidates must not have been employed as permanent or PRN staff at the facility within the past 12 monthsParking is provided with a permit obtained during orientationRequirements
Minimum 1 year of recent diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab experience requiredActive IL license required if applicableCurrent ARRT or RCIS certification requiredBLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or Red Cross required; RQI cards not acceptedProficiency with Cerner electronic medical record system requiredDemonstrated ability to interpret dysrhythmias and recognize life-threatening arrhythmiasExperience with equipment setup, infection control protocols, sterile technique, isolation precautions, and procedural responsibilityBenefits
