Job Description
Responsibilities of the Legal Administrative Specialist include but are not limited to :
- Provides administrative support to the Office of Legal Counsel
- Assists with coordinating the Financial Disclosure Filing process
- Assists with tracking Ethics training completion for employees and Commissioners
- Maintains calendars for the Chief Legal Counsel, Deputy Chief Legal Counsel and attorneys
- Provides secretarial support to assist attorneys with case management
- Schedules outside resources such as hearing officers and court reporters
- Assists Legal Counsel staff prepare for Commission Meetings
- Uses Tymetrix software to process outside counsel billing submissions
- Gathers prize assignments and distributes to attorneys
- Assists attorneys track bankruptcy information with Office of Finance
- Prepares and formats confidential correspondence and reports
- Maintains confidential files
- Tracks attorney Continuing Legal Education requirements, memberships and bar renewals
- Works with Office of Human Resources to coordinate Legal College Interns
- Handles sensitive telephone calls on Legal main phone line
- Receives, opens, logs and distributes incoming departmental mail
- Sends outgoing mail, certified mail and packages
- Performs various office support tasks
- Performs other duties and works on special projects

30 months experience or 30 months training in secretarial / administrative professional field.
Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 months experience in secretarial / administrative professional field.
Or 12 months experience as Administrative Professional 2,16872.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
