Business Development Manager - Project Management

Actalent is seeking a full-time Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The Business Development Manager for the Project Management Practice is a strategic sales and market leader responsible for managing account strategies, identifying target accounts, and establishing partnerships to drive consultative business solutions. The role involves cultivating relationships with existing clients and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a consistent approach for all prospective customers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new professional services opportunities following strategic focus areas, including target accounts and partnerships.
  • Utilize consultative selling techniques to increase market / customer share by expanding deal sizes and advancing deals up the value chain.
  • Achieve growth goals by expanding current account relationships and acquiring new accounts.
  • Develop and implement account strategies focusing on diversification, saturation, and retention.
  • Create and manage account or portfolio growth projections using industry knowledge and marketplace insights.
  • Build relationships with executive sponsors and key decision-makers at client organizations.
  • Drive business partnerships to saturate and retain accounts.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen, including sales, RFXs, presentations, contracts, negotiations, and reporting.
  • Facilitate effective partnerships between service pillars to maximize opportunities.
  • Report on account plan effectiveness, perform root cause analysis, and evolve account strategies as needed.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to target and win new business in assigned accounts.
  • Partner with corporate functions to ensure proper functioning in large account setups.
  • Maintain strong alliances with delivery operations to address challenges and improve business processes.
  • Exhibit core leadership skills, including relationship building and organizational agility.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of business development experience in industries such as Oil & Gas, Utilities, Manufacturing, Heavy Industrial, or Architecture & Construction.
  • Minimum 5 years of services business development experience with large customer accounts.
  • Proven industry expertise with established key account relationships.
  • Experience in developing and solutioning project management outsourcing / consulting engagements.
  • Proven success in driving revenue within EPC model and project management.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting to executive stakeholders and all organizational levels.
  • Experience and knowledge in engineering, utility, and energy areas.
  • Proficiency with sales / CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Ability to align customer goals with company solutions.
  • Ability to travel within the US for customer meetings, up to 50%.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Project management consulting experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Work Environment

    The position requires travel within the US for customer meetings, up to 50% of the time. The candidate will work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced technologies and systems to drive strategic business growth.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Permanent position.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00 / yr.

    Workplace Type

    This is a hybrid position in St. Louis, Missouri.
