American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Med / Surg RN with at least 1 year of recent experience and a Michigan RN license for a night shift assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is based on a Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
  • Will float to other Med / Surg units as needed, typically about once per week
  • Patient populations include ortho / neurovascular, cardio / pulmonary, and post-surgical patients (GI, urology, hysterectomies, mastectomies)
  • Night shift schedule consists of 3x12 hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30) with every other weekend required
  • Staffing ratios are 1 : 5-6 on nights, may occasionally flex to 8 patients with LPN support
  • Responsibilities include caring for a diverse medical and surgical patient population across multiple specialties
  • Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
  • Initial eight days of assignment are not eligible for time off
  • Holiday time off requests are generally not accepted and must be discussed with management for any consideration
  • Orientation includes 8 hours of non-billable modules, completed during onboarding and annually thereafter
  • References required for consideration
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
  • Return staff may be considered if at least 6 months have passed since prior employment

  • Active Michigan RN license required
  • BLS (AHA) certification required; may be pending if willing to obtain
  • Minimum of 1 year recent Med / Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferred
  • Must be willing to work collaboratively with a variety of healthcare professionals, such as RNs, LPNs, and Techs
  • Completion of all lab work within 48-72 hours of contract signing
  • Proof of current flu vaccination or exemption within 48 hours of signing contract
