S&ME is looking for a motivated and passionate part-time Engineering Project Manager to join our Construction Services team in Asheville, North Carolina . As a Project Manager leading multi-disciplined project teams, you will utilize your technical expertise and leadership skills, foster team collaboration, build strong client relationships, and create a positive project environment. Alongside project delivery, you'll contribute to business growth by developing proposals and supporting strategic client development efforts.

Your Day-to-Day :

• Leadership & Coordination : Direct multi-disciplined teams on design and permitting for natural gas distribution and transmission projects, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. Coordinate environmental, natural, and cultural resource assessments for projects in new and existing utility easements.
• Project Execution : Manage all aspects of project delivery, including safety compliance, risk assessment, technical quality, schedule, and budget. Conduct site visits and engage with clients to ensure expectations are exceeded.
• Permitting and Design : Oversee the preparation of environmental and non-environmental permitting processes, including Erosion & Sedimentation Control Plans, Floodplain Development Permits, site grading, DOT Encroachments, Utility Encroachments, while performing design for natural gas distribution and transmission pipelines and facilities.
• Business Development : Partner with leadership to identify new opportunities, prepare competitive proposals, and expand the company's client network.
• Testing construction materials : Perform tests and oversee special inspections of materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and others to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Analyzing construction plans and specifications : Verify that they align with project goals before conducting field observations.
• Recording and managing field activities : Document detailed observations and test results during project execution, using Metafield or other management systems daily for efficient data handling and coordination.
• Preparing reports and proposals : Help draft reports and proposals for smaller projects, ensuring thorough and accurate assessments and documentation.
• Communicating daily : Interact with management, contractors, and clients to maintain project transparency and provide regular updates on progress
