Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location : Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York healthcare jobs) Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Cardiac Stepdown Assignment Length : 26 weeks (potential extension for travel nurses) Start Date : November 17, 2025 End Date : May 17, 2026 Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p), 36 hours / week Estimated Weekly Salary : $2100-$2250 Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend; must be available for 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, New Year's Day / Eve) Floating : Required to float to appropriate units as part of the Resource Float team Orientation : 1-2 days Documentation System : EPIC EMR Registered Nurse Qualifications Active New York RN license (or proof of application with applied date) At least 1 year of recent clinical experience in Telemetry, Progressive Care, or Cardiac Stepdown nursing Specialty experience in Cardiac Stepdown / PCU required Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications (required for all RN jobs) NIHSS certification (must be completed prior to start) EPIC experience within the past 2 years (mandatory) Ability to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays Reliable personal or rental vehicle (public transportation not available in this area) All-season or snow tires required November–April (for safe travel nursing in upstate New York) Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute cardiac and progressive care needs Monitor and manage patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, post-cardiac catheterization, and other cardiac diagnoses Administer and titrate cardiac and insulin drips, start IVs, and perform post-cardiac cath care Utilize advanced cardiac monitoring equipment and respond promptly to changes in patient condition Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including respiratory therapists and telemetry technicians Document all patient care in EPIC and adhere to hospital policies and unit protocols Float to other units as needed to support patient care throughout the facility Maintain professional appearance and comply with dress code (navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes) Experience the charm of Plattsburgh, NY, while working in a supportive healthcare environment.
