- 10-hour days if needed) Job Responsibilities and Requirements : Provide physical therapy services in an acute care hospital setting. Perform patient assessments including AROM / AAROM / PROM, strength testing, pain assessment, sensory response, and skin integrity evaluation. Monitor vital signs during treatment. Utilize assistive devices such as crutches, rolling walkers, hospital beds, call lights, bed alarms, sliding boards, and Hoyer lifts. Treat patients with cardiopulmonary, neurologic, orthopedic, and geriatric conditions. Manage patient populations including post-surgery, post-stroke, vestibular disorders, and cardiopulmonary diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, and MI. Develop and implement treatment plans including long-term goals and home exercise programs. Conduct patient and family education focusing on safety, injury prevention, and signs of abuse. Document assessments, evaluations, plans of care, and reassessments using any charting system. Handle billing processes for Medicare A and B. Requirements : BLS State license as a Physical Therapist Acute care experience required Preferred Skills : Experience with vestibular therapy, cognitive disorders, dementia / Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, and use of Hoyer lifts. Knowledge of cardiopulmonary conditions and geriatric patient care. Work Setting : Acute Care Hospital, adult and geriatric patient populations. Additional Info - Could care for COVID patients.
