The Role

Intern must be available to work full time (40 hours / week) during the 10-week program

Program Dates : May 29 - August 7, 2026.

Location : This position is fully remote / work from home in the continental US.

Work Authorization : US Work Authorization required for this role.

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate's commitment to the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.

The Main Responsibilities

As an Intern in Lumen's Product you will :

Data Platform Operations : Help monitor and maintain data platforms used for integration, storage, and analysis. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure systems are running efficiently and reliably.

Data Governance Exposure : Participate in the development and enforcement of data governance policies. Support efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to data quality initiatives.

Data Solution Development : Work with cross-functional teams to explore and implement data-driven solutions. Assist in evaluating tools and technologies that improve data architecture and integration.

Project Coordination : Shadow project managers and contribute to data governance projects. Help track progress, prepare documentation, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Team Collaboration & Learning : Engage with mentors and team members in a collaborative environment. Take part in training sessions, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing activities to build your skills and understanding of enterprise data practices.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required qualifications

Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.

Graduating August 2026 - May 2028

Preferred fields include but not limited to : Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a similar related field of study.

Proficiency and understanding of :

Data platforms, data integration, data architecture, and structuring of data within databases for optimal AI performance;

Effective communication within a group setting; and

Best practices for developing and implement data governance strategies within a large organization

Preferred Skills :

Strong proficiency in the entire Microsoft Suite

Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools.

Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services.

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual's level of education, geographic location, and experience / qualifications aligned to the role.

Hourly Based Pay Range :

Min : $31 / hour

Max : $46 / hour
