Summary - Basic Function Of The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision machining and extensive hands-on experience working in the field on industrial machinery and equipment. This role involves travel to client sites to perform in-place machining, repairs, and modifications on a variety of large-scale equipment including turbines, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems.

Shift : Varies based on assigned projects; evenings, weekends, and / or holidays may be required.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform on-site machining operations such as milling, line boring, flange facing, drilling, threading, and shaft turning.
• Job preparation and mobilization / demobilization including equipment lists and procedures.
• Set up and operate portable machine tools and equipment according to precise specifications. Adhere to all Hydratight and site-specific procedures and policies including work permits and proper use of PPE and other equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Inspect, diagnose, and determine machining requirements to rectify problems with equipment and / or difficult situations.
• Ensure accurate tolerances and measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other field staff to ensure project success. Communicates job progression back to the main office daily.
• Provide clear and accurate job documentation, including work reports and time sheets.
• Travel frequently to client job sites, including offshore, remote, or international locations as required. Book travel and maintain travel records through Enerpac Travel page.
• Interface with client in a professional manner always representing Hydratight to the highest standard.
• Accurate and timely completion and submission of all job-related documentation including QA-QC documents.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Complies with specific task requirements including ability to identify potential hazards using risk assessment.
• Adhere to the company's procedures in relation to quality management and environment systems.
• Adhere to the Company\'s Safety Procedures and Policies.
• Manage expenses during travel as well as submit expense reports monthly.
• Use company email to communicate with internal and external clients.
• Carry out driving duties in accordance with the Company\'s requirements.

Education And Experience

Physical Demands

Employee will have to lift tools up to 100 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk / climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air / auto to remote sites. This will include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee will move themselves in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. Employee will need to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another. Employee will need to operate machinery and / or power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee will need to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and / or fingers.

Work Environment

Primary work environment is typically refineries, chemical plants, pipelines, and offshore where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee may be exposed to high / low temperatures, outdoor elements (such as precipitation and wind), high levels of noise, hazardous conditions, poor ventilation, small and / or enclosed spaces, or adverse environmental conditions.
