Job Summary :
Responsible for the 24-hour day-to-day operation and management of the Sterile Processing Department to meet the customers needs, including the supervision and leadership of personnel. Provides oversight and assistance with equipment management, sterilization, high level disinfection, decontamination of reusable medical equipment. Supply cost reductions, contract compliance, capital and constructions, database maintenance, purchasing, receiving, sterile storage, inventory control functions as well as distribution management of sterile supplies and equipment. Assists with budget processes for the department managed under Surgical Services.
Licensure and Certification :
- Certified Registered Central Supply Technician
- AHRMM Membership preferred
- Certified Materials and Resource Professional certificate (CMRP) or equivalent

Education :
High School DiplomaBachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferredSome coursework in related area requiredExperience :
Minimum of three (3) years Sterile Processing managementMinimum of three (3) years management experience in managing employees within healthcare environment requiredActual experience in working the Sterile Processing department is preferredPhysical Demands Clerical / Administrative Non-Patient Care :
Frequent sitting and standing / walking with frequent position change.Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.Occasional / intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.Occasional / intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing / pulling, twisting, and climbing.Occasional / intermittent lifting and carrying objects / equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
