The Senior Counsel, Operations supports the Department's functions including contract development, review and negotiation, commercial transactions support, regulatory compliance, process improvements, general legal functions which may include risk management activities, and other duties as designated. The Senior Counsel, Operations directly advises and supports staff in operational areas with regard to contracting and transactional matters. An essential element of all functions will be to stay up-to-date on applicable laws and regulatory requirements for the areas of responsibility through self-study, and participation and / or attendance in ongoing education or seminars.

Responsibilities

• Assists with drafting, review and negotiation of contracts from all areas of the Hospital and with review of Hospital policies. As designated, provides legal advice and counsel with regard to contract issues.
• Assists with review of and advice concerning legal issues involving federal and state regulation of healthcare providers, and other regulatory requirements applicable to CMH.
• Assists as directed with other legal issues affecting CMH, provides back up to other CMH counsel on other matters affecting the operations or risk mitigation of the hospital.
