Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology team. In this vital role, you will work alongside our experienced Oncologists to provide high-quality care for pets diagnosed with cancer. Your compassion and expertise will make a direct impact on the lives of our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist veterinarians in all aspects of oncology patient care, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment
- Prepare patients for chemotherapy and other oncological procedures
- Administer treatments and medications as prescribed, including chemotherapies and other IV therapies
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and perform vital sign checks
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples, including blood work and urine samples
- Provide education and emotional support to pet owners about treatment options and care plans
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is up to date
- Assist in the upkeep of the oncology treatment area and ensure all equipment is properly prepared and cleaned
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a veterinary technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferredMinimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician, preferably in an oncology or specialty settingStrong knowledge of veterinary medical procedures and materialsExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a teamAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasksCompassionate attitude towards animals and their ownersProficiency with veterinary software and basic computer skillsBenefits
