You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for the Natural Resource Specialist, you must meet
BOTH
the Basic Education Requirement and the Additional Requirements. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. A copy of your unofficial transcripts must be provided with your application.
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT :
A. Degree : A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry or related disciplines appropriate to this position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience that included 24 semester hours in course work in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, AND experience sufficient to demonstrate that you possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation that is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field needed to perform the work of the occupation.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT :
In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, you must also meet the qualifications below :
GS-09 :
Specialized Experience : One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service or its non-Federal equivalent that included experience assisting with a land resource program; assisting with realty actions such as permitting or environmental compliance; and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams or stakeholders.
OR
Education : 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree, in a related field.
OR
Combination of graduate education and specialized experience as described above.
GS-11 :
Specialized Experience : One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service or its non-Federal equivalent that included experience managing a land resource program; coordinating recreation activities; administering realty actions such as permitting or environmental compliance; and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
OR
Education : 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, in a related field.
OR
Combination of graduate education and specialized experience as described above.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies
