Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty : Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility (LTC / SNF)

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8, 16-hour day, evening shifts (7 AM-3 PM or 3 PM-11 PM)

Guaranteed Hours : 48 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 1 year(s) of experience; preference for 2 years. First-time travelers are accepted, but experienced travelers are preferred. Must have prior LTC / SNF experience.

License : Required to submit

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Must-Have :

  • Experience in LTC / SNF settings
  • Flexibility to assist in filling gaps in permanent staffing
  • Ability to float between floors if needed

Job Description :

  • Responsible for med passes, vital signs, blood sugar checks and management
  • Conduct wound care, ostomy and foley management, tube feeding administration
  • Assist other team members as needed
  • Occasional IV antibiotic management and potential PICC line management
  • Participate in daily huddles; RNs are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab
  • Supervised by and report to the Supervisor on every shift, with access to a resource
  • Physicians and nurse practitioners are available at designated times; can contact hospital for on-call providers off-hours
  • Part of an interdisciplinary team including PT, OT, SLP, case managers, social workers, and dieticians
  • Responsible for managing respiratory treatments and equipment such as CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula; no trachs or vents
  • Medications managed through bubble packs and house stock
  • Schedule created 6 weeks in advance; flexible scheduling required
  • Weekend work required every other weekend; holidays may be required
  • No call or standby requirements
  • Required to wear professional-looking scrubs; specific grooming and attire protocols must be followed
  • Undergo department-specific orientation with three shifts alongside a preceptor
