Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Recreation Supervisor - Adaptive Athletics, a Resource Team Member is responsible for assisting with event day management and facilitation of the school-based athletic competitions which are held during the school day.
Position Summary
- Serve as an event day facilitator for the MPS Adaptive Athletics program
- Assist with set-up and take-down of school-based athletic events which includes coordinating / moving equipment, assembling sports stations, taping lines on a court, etc.
- Orient, supervise, and guide MPS student volunteers assisting at each sporting event
- Assist in monitoring athletic competitions and collecting post-competition score sheets and reports
- Assist with the training of school coaches and their student athletes
- Engage in positive interactions with program and building staff, parents and community members
- Engage in positive interactions with MPS teachers, educational assistants, handicap children's assistants and other MPS personnel in an effort to promote a team approach to helping students succeed
Supervision Required
Reports to the Recreation Supervisor of Adaptive Athletics program.

Tentative work schedule, event days from 8 : 30 am - 1 : 30 pm99% of competitions are held indoors in MPS schoolsWork with a team of recreation leaders which varies from 6-14 employees
