Server Assistant

Circa 1886 regularly ranks among the finest restaurants in downtown Charleston. We are looking for a server assistant / food runner to join our staff. The role of the food runner will deliver food to guests, provide them with a description of the items they have ordered following all fine dining standards, and polish silverware and glassware to prep for resetting tables.

The right candidate for this position will be committed to maintaining our standard of excellence and be able to work any hours needed on any day of the week including weekends and holidays. Circa 1886 is closed Sunday evenings, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day.

Responsibilities :

• Clean areas of the restaurant : dining rooms, patio, and bathrooms
• Be knowledgeable about the preparation and ingredients of every selection on the menu
• Communicate with all guests in a professional, outgoing, and friendly manner
• Closeout duties to include : cleaning side work, polishing of silver and glassware, re-setting of full dining room and other duties as assigned by manager

The food runner will report directly to the Restaurant Manager. In the absence of the Restaurant Manager, the server takes direction from the Office Manager and / or Sommelier
