Responsibilities

Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Machine Tech III, Heading in our Carson, CA location.

General Summary : Sets up, operates, and troubleshoots various secondary machines in all manufacturing departments.

Specific Responsibilities :

  • Proficiently sets up, operates, and troubleshoots machinery for self / others
  • Sets up machines according to work order set standard procedures and specialized company products and / or processes
  • Learns the setup and operation of any new machines added to the departments to which assigned
  • Assists factory supervision and lead person in the training of Machining Tech I and II
  • Checks parts with standard gauges or precision measuring instruments and submits parts for inspection as required
  • Operates machines to ensure proper functioning and releases to and instructs operator in procedures for producing parts in conformance with specifications
  • Performs SPC Charting as required
  • Keeps work area clean, safe, and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis
  • Performs other tasks as required
  • Crosstrain others as requested
  • Learn multiple processes
  • Certify for test (CTT, Load Test etc) - where applicable
  • Self-initiative
  • Ensuring that they are meeting department goals
  • Make setup adjustments for others
  • Run multiple machines where applicable

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 3 years minimum of total experience
  • Certified in Lock Out / Tag Out
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

The salary range for this position is $20.00- $28.00.
