• Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including the following and other duties as may be assigned by management) :
• Reads job order and observes and listens to truck, truck w / attached equipment and other mechanical equipment in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.
• Repairs ignition systems, aligns front wheels, changes or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions and other parts.
• May overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and makes adjustments.
• Fabricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
• Maintains inventory of vehicle and equipment parts and supplies.
• Maintains shop area.
• Operates, retrieves and records data information on computer relative to work assignment
• Supervisory Responsibilities :

Must have knowledge and experience with but not limited to; hydraulic systems, gas engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, drive trains and hand tools.

• Education and / or Experience :

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and 5 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Certificates, Licenses and Registrations :

Must possess and maintain Motor Vehicle Mechanic Certificate as Master Auto Mechanic and Master Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic.

Must possess and maintain valid Michigan CLD License.
