At Safespill, CNC Operators are expected to treat their mill like a dream car — cleaned daily, run hard, and fine-tuned like a race vehicle. If you’re just loading programs and hitting “Cycle Start,” you’ll fall behind quickly. We need people who think critically, speak up when tool wear changes, and take pride in clean, accurate parts. One day, you’ll be running a VF10 on a large plate and catch a slight burr the machine didn’t flag. The next, you’ll be mid-run on a gantry when tool chatter shifts pitch — and you’ll know something’s off. You’ll stop, inspect, and call the CNC Production Manager before touching the program. When new fixtures or faster toolpaths are introduced, you don’t resist change — you help implement them safely and quickly. The aluminum parts you produce aren’t abstract. They’re core components of floor systems protecting commercial aircraft in active hangars and fifth-generation fighter jets that defend national security. Every part machined correctly helps replace foam-based fire suppression systems that pollute water supplies and endanger lives. That’s the standard — and the reason — for running fast, clean, and precise. If this excites you, even if it also intimidates you, you might be humble and hungry enough for this role. Our Company Fire suppression systems containing firefighting foam have been widely used in military and commercial aircraft hangars. The foam contains PFAS chemicals (also known as “forever chemicals”), which have been linked to ovarian, thyroid, and testicular cancer, infant birth defects, and other health issues. Safespill developed the ILDFA system to eliminate the need for foam. It is the only effective alternative and has been selected as the preferred fire protection method by the U.S. Navy and many commercial clients. Our mission is to transition the world to environmentally safe fire protection. Our team has around 75 members and is growing. The people who succeed here treat their machines, tools, and work like they own them. They thrive in a fast-paced shop, deliver clean, precise parts, and constantly look for better ways to get the job done. Our ideal CNC Operator has : Experience running CNC machines, ideally Haas mills (VF2, VF10, and gantry 510s) Ability to monitor tool wear and recognize when adjustments or replacements are needed Familiarity with InventorCam (experience in setup / programming is a plus) A problem-solving mindset—able to suggest smarter or faster approaches without bypassing communication or procedures
