- Previous Charge Experience (Preferred)
- Patient Ratio Experience : 5
- Preferred Experience in Trauma Level I or II
Description :
We are looking for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse for day shifts.
This position offers the option of 36 or 48-hour work weeks.
First-time travelers are welcome with 2-3 years of experience in a Progressive or Acute Emergency Room.
Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
No floating to different units is required.
Staff will work every other weekend; a minimum of three shifts in a six-week schedule.
Patient diagnoses include Medical Surgical, Community-based Emergency Department cases, Respiratory, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Cardiac, Neurological, Minor Trauma, Obstetrics / Gynecology, and Integumentary issues.
The unit is responsible for providing initial medical care for strokes, STEMIs, major trauma, and pediatrics prior to transfer.
The unit may keep patients in the NICU for less than 11 weeks.
Unit procedures include chest tubes, thoracentesis, paracentesis, rapid sequence intubation (RSI), splinting, procedural sedation, restraints, vacuum D&C, and central line placements.
Special equipment includes rapid infusers, EZ IO, Lifepack monitors, GE monitors, and Glidescope.
Interdisciplinary support is available through Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and other essential services.
The daily census in the emergency room is approximately 90 patients.
Staffing includes a charge nurse plus 2-3 additional nurses during the day shift.
Scrub color is flexible with no logos allowed.
