POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the supervision of the Program Director ensures the agency operation is consistent with safety, regulatory guidelines (DHS) and requirements and organization procedure to ensure optimum service to all Sanctuary asylum seekers.
POSITION DESCRIPTION :
In this role, Director of Program Operations will ensure that all staff have all necessary operational and administrative tools and be proactive by escalating high priority issues and risks for their review as appropriate.
Manage a team to ensure safe and efficient provision of services to all clients and staff.
Provide training, guidance and support to operation team members, ensuring they remain up to date with protocols and regulations set forth by OTDA, DHS, DOHMH, and other regulatory agencies as cited by administration.
Identify training needs and coordinate implementation of such needs.
Provide supervision and support for 24 / 7 operations as required.
Providing status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
Oversee and keep records such as curfew checks and vacancy reporting in CARES as well as weekly / monthly data reporting.
Work collaboratively with Maintenance, Security, Vendors and Emergency Responders on site.
Respond to client issues and concerns according to procedure or instructions, providing counsel where appropriate.
Ensure that the facility is staffed appropriately.
Conduct / participate in fire drills and ensure compliance with regulations and procedures.
Makes rounds scheduled and randomly through the facility (interior and exterior) for surveillance of hazardous situations, trespassers, illegal activities, cleanliness etc.
Maintain excellent working relationships with clients, staff, and vendors.
Participate in training, workshops and / or educational programs as assigned.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Program Director or designee.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
Associate's degree with five years of supervisory experience in shelter operations
Bachelor's degree required with two years of supervisory experience in shelter operations preferred
Able to represent Program Director in their absence
Develop and maintain relationship with local police precinct and represent CPU in local community meetings as needed
Work closely with building manager and funding source to ensure building repairs are resolved timely
F-80 Fire Safety Director Certification required
NYC Food Handler's Certificate or can be hired with the condition of obtaining within 1 month
CPR / First Aide required
Must be capable to manage and address crisis
Proficiency in Microsoft 365
Must be flexible to work various shifts and provide 24 / 7 oversite of the program
Conduct frequent spot checks to ensure site compliance
Adaptable to task change at any time due to reasonable but necessary conditions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to write and monitor established operations schedule
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to speak / write the English language
Bilingual Spanish Preferred
